How To Gain Focus and Plan to Achieve Whilst Working Online December 30, 2006

I have been working online now for over three years and on my journey to earn money from using the Internet I have travelled far and wide, in a cyber sense that is.
The workings of the Internet income arena are vast, so vast in fact that you could almost get lost in a funnel of businesses and information that seem like you have entered a void expanse that will eventually end up nowhere.
It is important to remain focussed 100% on all and any objectives that that you are striving to achieve, as displacement of this focus will cost you dearly in revenue, true learning and of ever achieving that ultimate goal of online success.
You might think it easy to stay true to the tool (Business, Program, Opportunity etc) that you have chosen to follow or utilise in order to achieve your objective. But at least 70% of those who venture out to work a system for success end up trying 100’s before they finally give up the ghost in a whimper of dust.
And those are the first to express that success is a myth online and simply cannot be achieve, after all they have tried it for themselves. The truth lays in those exact words, they tried. When working online for success as in the outside world there is no such thing as try, but so many fail trying this that and all and sundry.
First rule of thumb should be to set a plan of action. A plan of how you are exactly going to achieve your goals. Break each one of them down into segments and apply what you need to in order to be able to work towards them.
In plain old fashioned English: People don’t plan to fail, but they do fail to plan. Now a lot of people will know this expression, but how many of those who know actually live by it. Not too many I’m sure.
First rule of thumb when searching to succeed online is finding the right vehicle. Now this in itself can be the biggest failing for people as.
(A) They never truly find an opportunity that is worthy of their effort.
(B) Sometimes they think they have and can spend years going in circles.
(C) Jump from one opportunity to the next thinking they have found something better.
(D) End up in the wrong kind of opportunity and get lied to and ripped off.
(E) Be taken in by the glitzy lights instead of the cold hard facts and figures.
These are just some of the causes that lead to people either give up or completely pooh, pooh the concept of being able to work and flourish using an online business.
Another quite large characteristic of not being able to achieve online was the sheer fact of knowledge that the individual was expected to posses even before thinking about making any money from their efforts.
Thankfully now that has all changed and the majority of reliable and dependable business opportunities online that are worth while have accounted for this and swerved their thinking and systems so that a total newbie or novice online stands a chance of getting up and running in no time at all.
Back to the plan before we lose grip completely. How should you plan. First start off with a simple plan such as allowing yourself set times to achieve objectives. If you are not a member of any online business but have decided that this will be your way forward then you need to be very choosy in making your selection, but you don’t want to take forever in making a decision, so plan to have found your chosen vehicle in a set time-limit.
There you just made your first part of your overall plan. See how simple it can be if you actually apply yourself to it. But before we go away patting ourselves on the back there is a little more depth to making even the simplest of plans.
Within that plan you will also have your own laid out parameters, such as how much I am willing to spend on membership, (This should also include any sub-programs within a business opportunity that you might have to join in order to make the whole thing work) After all you wouldn’t expect to make a living offline starting a business without investing some kind of capital.
And the good news is it costs considerably less to start a business and create income online than it would ever cost offline, in fact only a mere fraction. So this should also be worked into your plan. Another good idea would be to add in a budget for monthly promotion, now while you can in fact promote quite effectively online without a budget it is always wise to incorporate a little to allow yourself to excel.
Another part of your initial plan may possibly incorporate a time allocation. After all most people starting an online business already have a job they must go to each and every day. So how much time are you willing to commit to your new business each week and then break this down into hours each day.
Additionally you will want to have expectations or goals for those said hours. For instance if you are only going to put in a couple of hours a week it would be unwise to expect a great deal to happen for sometime. And the same can be said of the adverse. In other words the more you put in, the more you will get out.
The other thing to take on board here is that you must initially be prepared to learn. Ever heard of the expression “Earn while you Learn”. Well this should apply to involvement in any new venture anybody undertakes, especially if they expect to work it as a successful income generating business. We should not try to run before we can walk, in other words.
So by now I hope we can see how important it is to plan for each and every step we take, and not just in our heads but as with our goals, dreams and aspirations we should have it all written down and update it regularly. After all you wouldn’t try and drive a car from one side of the world to the other without any roadmaps or ideas of what obstacles you might face and have to overcome on the journey would you.
Well the same applies here and if we adopt this process and place it into our every day lives then our goals and dreams will arrive a lot sooner than we initially thought.
So having covered not planning to fail I will conclude with how important it is to also stay focussed.
And that means never, never taking our eye off of the ball and being duped into thinking something is not working and jumping headlong into something possibly less fruitful or even worse.
If you had just started a business offline and invested a lot of time energy and money into it how long would you commit to it working for you before you even thought or considered getting out or quitting?
A month, maybe two months, ok what about six months, a year perhaps or two. Who knows as we are each individual and have different ideal’s. But in reality the majority of failed offline businesses still end up with the person or people who originally started it up, going down with it, and sometimes this can be years after they originally started out. Not necessarily through any fault of their own.
The economic climate may have changed and what was once a fruitful booming corporation may not be offering the environment or surroundings a value related service and be forced to close its doors forever. No one’s fault just the world that we all live in. It happens and a lot of good hardworking people are made bankrupt or worse in the process.
However, it gives strength to the knowledge that whatever you attempt to do be it on or offline we should give it all that we can if our ultimate goal is a worthwhile one.
So when people say focus is the key to success, this is indeed very true or as near to having a successful secret that there is. On our journey to greater things online there are a great amount of things to draw our attention away from that which we ultimately set out to achieve.
There are many great sounding opportunities out there, and each week that we don’t get instant rewards draws our minds to believe that success would be so much easier doing it how they are doing it, or so they say. And then a few more weeks may go by and that has not made you a fortune either, so again you are tempted by the next golden opportunity that is driven your way.
And in some cases this could lead some to go on like this for years, without ever really achieving any success anywhere. They are left with only an overworked bank balance and an enthusiasm that is all but burnt out. But had they stayed with what it was they initially decided to they would have probably been in a position now to expand their online business portfolio and look at getting involved with another opportunity that combined with their already successful venture would reap them even greater profits.
As we can see there is a right way and a wrong way to do everything but something’s are much more critical than others. I hope as it was intended, that this information has been of use and if you are still stuck as to what to do why not take a stroll over to FirstForIncome.com. I’m sure you will find something there that will give you further inspiration.
Plan and Stay Focussed
P.S. I’d love to hear about your feelings and thoughts on this topic so why not take action and write down exactly what your thinking and feeling right now having read this submission. Who knows I may be able to help you in some other area that you may wish some help with. One thing I have learnt whilst building my business is that if you don’t know the answer to something ask someone who may just be able to point you in the right direction or possibly have the answer themselves.
Here’s to your success…
